  • SPRING MAINTENANCE- Your pond has laid dormant all winter long, now is the time to check and make sure filters and aerators are in working order for the season, as well as  remove debris and excess algae build up from the winter.
  • SUMMER MAINTENANCE – This is the time that the most maintenance is needed.  Regular cleaning is a must to keep the pond clean and fish healthy.  Keeping oxygen levels up is key to keeping ammonia levels and algae growth down as well as helping fish digest and convert food to energy.
  • FALL MAINTENANCE–  Now is the time to start prepping your pond for winter.  Regular cleaning out of leaves and other fall debris from the in and around the pond is imperative in keeping the water’s integrity.  This is also the time to trim back any foliage from around the pool and remove dying plant matter from the pond.   The metabolism of the fish becomes to slow as the water continues to get colder.  Therefore, you should also lessen the amount of food you are feeding the fish at this time.  The metabolism of the fish becomes to slow as the water continues to get colder.
  • WINTER MAINTENANCE – Now is the time to winterize your pond.  Make sure waterfalls are blown out to ensure there is not any water in the lines that could freeze and expand causing breakage.  Also, make sure that you do not allow the pond to completely freeze over.
